The 720MO 4-channel tissue bath system is a highly sophisticated research instrument yet robust and easy-to-use for in vitro study of larger blood vessels (>500 μm) and other circular tissues, such as trachea or gut, mounted as larger ring preparations up to 10 mm.
»in-vitro study of larger blood vessels«
The system is the successor to the 700MO and in the 720MO we have improved and re-designed the Myo-Interface:
• The heating has been made more accurate down to the individual bath level.
• The operation of the interface has been made even more intuitive and easy to handle. The front switches have been replaced by a graphical color touch-display.
• The menus are easier to navigate, read and similar of what you would see on a PC screen or Mobile phone.
• We have installed a powerful CPU and a large memory to make the 720M future upgradeable.

Each single myograph unit, made of aluminium, has a round, centrally placed 8 ml stainless steel chamber. The segment supports are pins positioned in the chamber where one side is attached to the force transducer and the other side is attached to a micropositioner. Each unit has individually controlled gas inflow and suction.
The preparations in all four chambers are kept under physiological conditions, i.e. in physiological salt solution at 37°C, and bubbled with a gas mixture of your choice. Heating and connections for vacuum and gassing are on the myograph interface. The interface also incorporates all electronics, a microprocessor for calibration, circuitry for analog outputs, and an USB port on the back.
The passive length-tension relationships of blood vessels provide the basis for a normalization procedure, which is a highly reproducible method to determine the baseline tension and micrometer setting. Other preparations can be stretched until they are exposed to the desired pre-load. This ensures reproducibility among the tissues and between experiments.
During the actual experiments the tissues are examined under isometric conditions. Compounds are added directly to the chamber and developed tension is measured for contractile or relaxing effects.
»highly suited for pharmacological investigations of tissue reactivity«
This myograph system is highly suited for pharmacological investigations of tissue reactivity. Multiple 720MO units can be arranged conveniently side-by-side for larger testing capacity. Thus it is ideal for work requiring a higher throughput, such as drug screening, running concentration-
response curves or in experiments where separation of vessels in separate baths is necessary.

Custom covers
The standard covers can be modified with extra space or holes to accommodate more electrodes or sensors to be placed in the bath. |
