Pressure Myograph System - 111P

The Pressure Myograph is for studying pressure-diameter relations of cannulated small arteries (diameter >50µm), which can be seen through an inverted microscope. Video measurements are done of external and internal diameters through a window in the base of the Myograph with continuous display of microscope image, vessel dimensions, flow, force and temperature on monitor. Transducers continuously monitoring inflow and outflow pressures and longitudinal tension to allow standardization of arterial length using micrometer.

Intravascular pressures controlled by an easily adjustable turret with optional servo control. A heating system gives electronic feedback for maintaining organ chamber temperature above ambient temperature. The chamber cover includes ports for superfusion, for rapid draining and filling, and for gas supply. To facilitate cleaning, the chamber is made in stainless steel and is acid-resistant. All measurements are continuously recorded by the computer and can be output to a chart recorder.

The Myograph is controlled by the user-friendly software MyoView.

Pressure Myograph System - 110P

This pressure myograph is a system used to study structure and function of isolated sections of small vessels under near physiological conditions. Vessel diameter can be measured as a function of pharmacological and physiological stimuli.

This system is expandable for imaging purposes such as calcium and flourescence studies.

The Myograph is controlled by the user-friendly software MyoView.

Pressure Myograph for Rapid Freezing - 115FP

This pressure myograph chamber is designed for biochemical or morphological studies where rapid freezing of the vessel is frequently required. This chamber is ideal for rapid freezing of a cannulated and pressurized vessel for biochemical studies, or for quick transfer from a physiological solution into a fixative for morphological studies.

The experimental chamber is made of stainless steel. A window at the base of the chamber allows the vessel dimensions to be digitized for analysis of diameter etc. The adjoining chamber, which is removable, is used for freezing or adding other fixing solutions. By raising the segment holder and thus the vessel and its tubing, the chamber stage can be moved to the side, for rapid or instant freezing or removing of the vessel segment for later analysis. This process can be done in less than a second.

This chamber can be obtained as a complete setup - similiar the 110P, or as an add-on to the 110P

Confocal Pressure Myograph System - 120CP

The confocal pressure myograph is a system specifically for use with laser scanning confocal microscopes (LSCM) and used to study intracellular ion activity and isobaric constriction of isolated sections of small resistance arteries (diameter >50µm).

The bath design allows easy access for the type of high numerical aperture lenses used in standard upright confocal microscopy. Further the top part can be tipped, which not only facilitates easier maintenance, but also eases the mounting procedure.

Also, by using angled mounting supports designed specifically to allow vertical positioning, an isolated blood vessel can be positioned directly above the chamber window permitting use of lenses with working distances as low as 0.25mm in an inverted LSCM, which is advantageous for simultaneous electrophysiological measurements.

The intravascular pressure and the pressure gradient along the vessel can be controlled precisely, and longitudinal force in the segment is measured continuously.

A heating system gives electronic feedback for maintaining organ chamber temperature above ambient temperature. The chamber cover includes ports for superfusion, for rapid draining and filling, and for gas supply.

To facilitate cleaning, the chamber is made in stainless steel and is acid-resistant.

Using the myograph on a confocal microscope, data acquisition is possible on in- and outlet pressure, force and temperature. It is done either by using the analogue outputs or the serial interface.
